TED WISE - Chairman
Mr. Wise is a Co-founder, previous President and then Vice-Chairman of Pharmascience Inc., a Canadian privately-held pharmaceutical company. At Pharmascience, Mr. Wise was primarily responsible for the marketing, sales and business development for the Innovative Business Unit. Under Mr. Wise's leadership, Pharmascience's sales grew by 41% compounded annually since its founding in 1983 to become Canada's twenty-fourth largest pharmaceutical company. Mr. Wise, a pharmacist by profession, has over forty years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having worked for Ayerst Laboratories, Winley-Morris Ltd. and ICN Canada. In 1981, Mr. Wise left ICN as its Executive Vice-President and co-founded Pharmascience Inc. Mr. Wise holds a BSc in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia, a Licentiate in Pharmacy in Québec, and several marketing and management certificates from McGill University.
JONATHAN ROSS GOODMAN - Director
Prior to founding Paladin, Mr.Goodman was the Vice President of Business Development at Pharmascience Inc., where he led Pharmascience's successful efforts to in-license new products and develop key corporate alliances with such companies as Eli Lilly, Schering, Novartis, Berlex, Alcon and Fournier. In addition, Mr. Goodman was a consultant with Bain & Company, a management consulting firm, and also worked in brand maangement for Procter & Gamble. Mr. Goodman holds a B.A. with Great Distinction from McGill University and the London School of Economics with 1st Class Honours. Additionally, Mr. Goodman holds an LL.B. and M.B.A. from McGill. Mr. Goodman is a member of the Bars of New York and Massachusetts, is an Accredited Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Representative, is a sessional lecturer in entrepreneurship at McGill University and is a part-time faculty member of Concordia University.
MARK BEAUDET- Director
Prior to joining Paladin, Mr. Beaudet was responsible for marketing and sales for Pharmascience's Innovative Business Unit. Mr. Beaudet was previously a Marketing Manager with Pizza Hut Canada where he led a series of successful initiatives for the national restaurant chain. Prior to that, Mr. Beaudet was a Brand Manager in Procter & Gamble's Health Care division and was responsible for the launch of several major OTC products in Canada. Mr. Beaudet holds a BComm in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from McGill University.
ROBERT LANDE - Director
Mr. Lande is the Chief Financial Officer of Forex Capital Markets LLC (FXCM), a leading foreign exchange broker serving retail and institutional clients. Formerly, Mr. Lande was Managing Partner of Riveredge Capital Partners LLC, a New York-based investment firm. Prior to Riveredge Capital, Mr. Lande worked 17 years within the BCE/Bell Canada group where his last position was Chief Financial Officer of Telecom Américas Ltd., a joint venture between Bell Canada International, SBC Communications and the Telmex group. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Mr. Lande holds an MBA from Concordia University and a B.A. in Economics from McGill University in Montreal.
GERALD MCDOLE - Director
Mr. McDole was formerly President and CEO of AstraZeneca Canada Inc. until his retirement in October 2003. Mr. McDole is a member of the Board of Directors of Medicure Inc. and Cipher Pharmaceuticals Inc. He is the former Chairman of the Advanced Coronary Treatment Foundation and a former director of the Institute of Health Economics in Edmonton and the Canadian Stroke Network. He is past President of the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy. Mr. McDole holds a Bachelor of Science and a Certificate of Business Management from the University of Manitoba, an MBA from Simon Fraser University, and a Business Administration diploma from the University of Toronto. Mr. McDole has been selected for inclusion in the 2002 Canadian Healthcare Marketing Hall of Fame.
JOEL RABY - Director
Mr. Joel Raby manages his family's investment office under the name Joel Raby & Associates. Until September 2006, he was a Senior Vice President of Burgundy Asset Management where he successfully developed a Montreal office for the Toronto-based investment counselor. Before joining Burgundy, Mr. Raby was Founder and President of Magna Vista Capital Management Inc. from 1992 until it was sold to AGF in June 2000. He continued as President of AGF Magna Vista Investment Management until September 2003. Prior to that, he was a Senior Partner in the head office of Jarislowsky, Fraser & Company, Canada's largest investment counseling firm. In addition, Mr. Raby has held positions in portfolio management and investment analysis at the CN Pension Fund and Jones Heward & Company, respectively.
JAMES C. GALE - Director
Mr. Gale is the founding partner of Signet Healthcare Partners. Prior to founding Signet Healthcare Partners, Mr. Gale was head of principal investment activities and head of investment banking for Gruntal & Co., LLC. Before joining Gruntal, he originated and managed private equity investments for the Home Insurance Co., Gruntal’s parent. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gale was a senior investment banker at E.F. Hutton & Co. Mr. Gale received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
